The AEPJ is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the EDJC Organisers & Coordinators Meeting 2025, which will take place on March 25–26, 2025, in Barcelona, Spain.
This meeting is a key moment in preparing for the European Days of Jewish Culture, an annual festival that begins on the first Sunday of September and celebrates Jewish heritage through a wide variety of cultural and educational activities across Europe. By fostering inclusion, promoting dialogue, and combating antisemitism, the EDJC continues to make a meaningful impact in building a more cohesive and understanding society.
This year’s festival will explore the theme People of the Book, a reflection on the central role of the written word in Jewish tradition and its deep connections with interfaith dialogue and cultural exchange. The theme invites communities to delve into Jewish textual traditions, highlighting the shared heritage of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and the power of texts to shape identity, resilience, and understanding.
For more details about the theme, visit this website.
The EDJC Organisers & Coordinators Meeting is much more than a preparation event: it is an invaluable opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute to the success of this pan-European festival. Participants will have the chance to deepen their understanding of this year’s theme, learning how to integrate it into meaningful and engaging activities. The meeting will include workshops to help develop practical skills in event planning, audience engagement, and communication strategies, while also providing a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices with peers from across Europe.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in organising activities for the EDJC, including Jewish communities, cultural associations, museums, municipalities, and even individual organisers. For those new to the festival or looking to expand their involvement, this meeting offers the tools and inspiration needed to create impactful events that resonate with local audiences.
Municipal teams play an essential role in promoting Jewish heritage and fostering inclusion at a local level. The EDJC Organisers & Coordinators Meeting will provide valuable guidance and resources tailored to municipalities, helping them support and host activities that create dialogue and celebrate diversity in their communities. Municipal representatives interested in learning more can contact Sonja Viličić, our specialist in municipal engagement under the project Cities Embracing Jewish Heritage, at cities@jewisheritage.org.
While the final venue and programme in Barcelona is being confirmed, details will be shared shortly along with recommendations for nearby accommodations. We encourage participants to register early to secure their spot and begin planning their trip, as spaces are limited.
