National Library of Israel Launches New Exhibition and Educational Materials for EDJC 2026
The countdown is on! On 6 September in Warsaw, we will officially open the European Days of Jewish Culture 2026, launching another season of events, encounters and discoveries across Europe around this year’s theme: LOVE.
As programmes take shape across the continent, we are delighted to share a new resource created especially for EDJC 2026 by the National Library of Israel (NLI): a ready-to-use digital exhibition, accompanied by educational materials that can be incorporated into your local activities.
We warmly encourage you to explore, translate, adapt and use these resources as part of your EDJC programme.
A digital exhibition for EDJC 2026
Created around the theme of LOVE, the exhibition brings together items from each of the National Library of Israel’s five core collections — Judaica, Israel, Islam and the Middle East, Music and Humanities — alongside an original artwork commissioned especially for the project.
The exhibition has been conceived as a modular resource, allowing organisers to adapt it to their venue and available space. The opening and closing posters should always be included, while individual posters may be omitted where necessary.
The package includes:
- The complete exhibition in PDF format
- An editable InDesign version, allowing for translation and local adaptation
- All individual images and document fonts
- Each exhibition panel as a separate PDF, ready for printing
The posters are designed to be printed at 90 × 60 cm.
Educational materials: Shir Hashirim: Cycles of Love
To complement the exhibition, NLI has also developed educational resources centred on Emily Shapiro Katz’s original sketch, Shir Hashirim: Cycles of Love.
Designed to help audiences engage more deeply with the artwork and the theme of LOVE, the package includes the original sketch together with questions and activity sheets for young children and families, as well as separate materials for teenagers and adults.
The resources are available in formats for both online use and printing, as well as editable InDesign files that can be translated and adapted locally.
Make them part of your EDJC
These materials are yours to use. Whether as a complete exhibition, part of a larger programme, an educational workshop, a family activity or a starting point for a conversation about love and Jewish culture, we hope they will provide inspiration for your EDJC activities this September.
The National Library of Israel is also preparing a dedicated landing page with more resources for the project, which we will share with the network as soon as it becomes available.
