Are traumas hereditary? Danish director Susanne Kovács asks these and other questions not only of herself, but also of her relatives: Her grandmother, a Jewish Holocaust survivor, her Danish-Jewish father and her German mother. Persistently and lovingly, Kovács digs into the past, collects archival material, discovers carefully arranged files from the concentration camp. She has just become a mother herself.
