EDJC 2021 > Slovenia > Digitized display of Jewish cultural heritage in Slovenia
Jews were already present on Slovenian territory in the Middle Ages, when they settled in Styria, Carinthia and Carniola, and after 1700 they settled in larger numbers, especially in Prekmurje, where before the start of World War II the largest Jewish community in the whole the Slovenian area lived. Slovenian Jews shared the sad fate of European Jews during the Holocaust, and their history and culture on Slovenian soil is also witnessed today by the preserved material of Jewish heritage that can be found in many Slovenian cities. The versatile cultural worker Mihael Toš designed a digitized display of Jewish heritage in both conventional and VR360 techniques.
