The topic of the EDJC'2024 – Family – allows to look at this notion from many various angles. This gave us a reason to organize a tour to the town of Orhei, one of the most famous and significant places of the Jewish history of the country. We consider it very important and useful for the Jewish families from Chisinau to learn more about other regions and settlements of the republic with a rich and old Jewish history to better understand our common history, look at the family roots, and promote the unity and cohesion in the community as a whole.
The program will include a bus trip from Chisinau to Orhei, 2-2.5 hours long walking tour at the spot along the most important places and points of interest, and a kosher picnic.
The program will use the materials of the virtual tour of the Jewish Orhei elaborated in the frames of the Jewish History Tours. The tour will be guided by Dr. Natalia Alkhazova, who served as the JHT coordinator in Moldova.
