For Municipalities
Cities Embracing Jewish Heritage

The Cities Embracing Jewish Heritage project is a joint initiative of the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) and the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ), with the support of Kiriaty Foundation Int. This innovative project invites cities like yours to actively participate in the European Days of Jewish Culture (EDJC2025), an annual event that celebrates Jewish heritage through cultural events, exhibitions, and educational activities.

By highlighting the ongoing contributions of Jewish heritage to European society, cities participating in this project foster intercultural dialogue, promote inclusion, and combat antisemitism with a proactive and impactful approach.

Participating cities will receive support, including expert guidance, financial assistance, networking and educational opportunities, marketing resources, and educational materials, to develop impactful local initiatives.

Each city can design its unique project tailored to its needs with support, from the Project manager of the Cities Embracing Jewish Heritage, throughout the process. Possible activities can include exhibitions, tributes to notable Jewish figures, concerts featuring Jewish music or composers, food festivals, public art displays, educational workshops, and more. On March 25–26, 2025, the European Days of Jewish Culture Organisers & Coordinators Meeting will take place in Barcelona, Spain. This annual gathering is a unique opportunity for stakeholders from across Europe to come together, collaborate, and help shape the future of this extraordinary festival.

The meeting will offer a rich program that combines a theoretical exploration of the year’s theme, strategic reflection, and practical meetings tailored to the unique needs of municipal representatives. Additionally, it will provide networking opportunities with organizers and coordinators of the European Days of Jewish Culture that can contribute to establishing new contacts and partnerships, gaining ideas for events, and learning from best practices.

Meetings will be held at Ca l’Alier, and we recommend finding accommodation in the surrounding area, as it is more convenient and affordable than the city center.

Meals and program costs are covered by the Cities Embracing Jewish Heritage Project
