Calea Vacaresti and the Peltz family: Dialogue between Arts and Generations

Stories for adults and drawing workshop for children: 1. Four presentations were made for the adult participants: a) Two academics (Felicia Waldman and Anca Tudorancea from the University of Bucharest) spoke about the life and work of writer Isaac Peltz, who dedicated his entire literary career to describing life in the Jewish neighborhood of Bucharest, and painter Tia Peltz, his daughter who illustrated this Jewish life in her father's books but also in various paintings, drawings, sketches. b) Actor, producer and stage director Dan Schlanger, who knew Tia Peltz personally, related stories from her life c) Cristian Popescu, a senior resident, related about life in the Jewish neighborhood as he personally experienced it 2. Children were given sketches of the former Jewish neighborhood of Bucharest as it looked about one hundred years ago, drawn by Tia Peltz, and were taught how to bring it back to life through coloring and painting.
