As Jornadas Europeias da Cultura Judaica são um evento organizado desde 2000, cujo objectivo fundamental consiste em realçar a diversidade e riqueza do judaísmo e a sua importância histórica local e internacional, com a firme intenção de promover o diálogo, a inclusão e o intercâmbio cultural, através de um sem número de atividades, que decorrem simultaneamente em todo o continente europeu. O Centro de Interpretação da Comunidade Judaica de Torres Vedras convida-o a visitar os locais e as memórias de uma comunidade que, durante séculos, habitou no centro histórico da povoação. Conhecer vivências singelas e acontecimentos marcantes, descobrir a vida rural do concelho e, bem no centro da vila, a vitalidade do bairro judaico. Abrimos as portas da antiga Judiaria, para desvendar o quotidiano da comunidade judaica, as suas afinidades e conflitos com os vizinhos cristãos e acompanhar o destino dos judeus torrienses após a sua expulsão, repartido entre os caminhos da diáspora e a integração na comunidade cristã. The European Days of Jewish Culture is an event organized since 2000, whose fundamental objective is to highlight the diversity and richness of Judaism and its local and international historical importance, with the firm intention of promoting dialogue, inclusion and cultural exchange, through a countless number of activities, which take place simultaneously throughout the European continent. The Interpretation Center of the Jewish Community of Torres Vedras invites you to visit the sites and memories of a community that, for centuries, lived in the historic center of the village. Discover simple experiences and remarkable events, discover the rural life of the county and, right in the center of the village, the vitality of the Jewish quarter. We opened the doors of the old Jewish quarter, to reveal the daily life of the Jewish community, its affinities and conflicts with Christian neighbors and follow the fate of Torriense Jews after their expulsion, divided between the paths of the diaspora and integration into the Christian community.
