The monument to the victims of the Holocaust, the Jews exterminated in Tiraspol, was opened in January 2018. It is believed that an action of mass extermination of Jews was carried out not far from this place. Mass executions were carried out in at least six places in Tiraspol. The monument is a marble slab with an inscription in Russian: “In memory of those innocently killed during the Nazi occupation of the city of Tiraspol. 1941 -1944. Above is a six-pointed star. The opening was attended by representatives of the government, heads of organizations, and media.
There were three ghettos in Tiraspol at different times where Jews from Moldova, Romania, Bukovina and Ukraine, Jewish prisoners of war were placed. Their locations are not marked.
