EDJC 2025 Poster

We are pleased to unveil the official poster design for the European Days of Jewish Culture 2025, developed in close collaboration with the EDJC Committee, a group composed of the festival’s most experienced national coordinators, and designed by Federico Szarfer, Project Manager of the EDJC.
This year’s theme, “People of the Book”, is brought to life through a powerful and poetic visual concept. The image presents a dense crowd of abstract human figures, seamlessly blending into vast, towering bookshelves. Some of the figures hold books, scrolls or tablets, while others appear to emerge from the books themselves, a striking reminder that knowledge, memory, and identity are deeply intertwined.
The earthy color palette, dominated by deep blues, browns, and ochres, evokes warmth and timelessness. It reflects the enduring beauty of Jewish textual culture and invites both tradition and contemporary interpretation.
At the heart of the design lies a simple yet profound idea: each person is a book, and together we form a living library. This collective metaphor speaks to the way Jewish heritage is preserved through storytelling, study, and dialogue. The faceless, diverse silhouettes highlight the universality of this legacy, affirming that the Jewish textual tradition belongs to all who engage with it, regardless of language, background, or belief.
We hope this visual identity will inspire and accompany all those who take part in this year’s festival across Europe. The poster is now available for organisers to adapt and translate to their local contexts, helping spread the message of People of the Book with creativity and care.
Our sincere thanks to the EDJC Committee for their guidance and vision, and to all those who continue to contribute to the success of this unique celebration of Jewish culture.
