EDJC 2023 > Inspiring stories of Jewish women: Hebrew women and Jewish heroines.
Discussion about exceptional women in Jewish history, mythology, and the present day with Jan Fingerland, author of the book Hebrew Women, and Pavlína Šulcová, director of the Bubny Center for Memory and Dialogue, which published its first translated publication, Jewish Heroines, in the spring. While Fingerland maps the fates of biblical women and the changes in their interpretations over the centuries, Jewish Heroines offers portraits of 120 women from around the world who shaped Jewish and world culture. The discussion will be accompanied by audiovisual presentations and food tasting prepared by Alžběta Glancová and Karolina Kašeová based on the cookbook by Fania Lewando, whose story is captured in Jewish Heroines. / Admission: CZK 60.
