EDJC 2023 > Journey in Time and Space: Bessarabian Accent of Memory, Music, and Meals
This year, AgudathIsrael in Moldova in the frames of EDJC invites to a special place of Vadul-Rashkov, one of the most picturesque settlements on the Dniester River bank, 100 km from Chisinau. For about 150 years it was a typical Jewish shtettle until the tragedy of the Holocaust when Jews partly were exterminated; partly escaped to other regions.
Vadul-Rashkov is the place of birth of Yehiel Shraibmna, on of the most famous writer in Yiddish from Moldova, His monument is one of the main points of the visit.
However, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Moldova and the Museum of Jewish History, we decided to suggest a wider menu of an Open Air concert of traditional klezmer music and Israeli street and Bessarabian cuisine dishes.
During the two-hour way from Chisinau, our guide will also tell a lot of interesting about the Jewish history of the country memorizing the most important places, dates, and names.
