During the Holocaust, 36 diplomats from 21 countries risked their lives and the safety of their families, and went against official policies of their countries, to save thousands of Jewish men, women and children. They violated laws for the greater ethical imperative, going above and beyond their duty to do the right thing – especially when it was most challenging. These individuals have been bestowed with the honor “Righteous Among the Nations” by Israel.
The exhibition opens in cooperation with the Embassy of Israel in Croatia.
