EDJC 2021 > Spain > Visita turística “La Sefarad de ayer y hoy. Origen, tradiciones, costumbres y dichos” A cargo de Elena Vargas González
This visit will begin in the Plaza de las Flores at the end of the Calleja de las Flores, to continue through the Jewish quarter, arriving at the Hospital del Cardenal Salazar, current Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. Until arriving at the Mudejar chapel of San Bartolomé. Passing through the sepharad house and entering the synagogue. Stopping of course at the Maimonides statue and continuing at the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos where it will finish.
The visit will be focused on knowing the origin of both sayings and sayings as well as customs and traditions that we have today. For example, what is the origin of the current pot? Why do we use expressions like doing Saturday or staying with two candles? We will also analyze part of our Sephardic past, we will talk about the Spanish Inquisition or the diaspora. A perfect visit for those who want to know more about Sephardic Jews and their influence today.
Tickets included, Mudejar chapel of San Bartolomé, Synagogue and Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos.
