The European Days of Jewish Culture 2025 is officially underway, and the first key resources are now available to help organizers begin planning their local activities. This year’s theme, “People of the Book”, invites a deep exploration of Jewish culture through the lens of literature, storytelling, education, and memory, offering communities a rich and meaningful starting point to connect past and present through the written word.
At the heart of this launch is the official EDJC 2025 poster, now available for download in multiple formats via the EDJC website. Developed in close collaboration with the EDJC Coordinators Committee, the poster is both symbolic and inclusive. The image of abstract human figures intertwined with towering bookshelves, visually reflects the idea that each person is a book, and that Jewish heritage is a living library, passed on through generations. With its earthy tones and poetic aesthetic, the poster is adaptable to different languages and contexts, and organizers are encouraged to translate and personalize it for local use.
Download the EDJC 2025 poster hereAnother major resource now online is the video archive from the recent EDJC Organisers & Coordinators Meeting, which took place in Barcelona on March 25–26. This annual gathering brought together 61 participants from across Europe and was a true celebration of collaboration, creativity, and shared purpose. The event featured panels, workshops, and cultural moments designed to equip coordinators with tools, ideas, and inspiration for the upcoming edition. The recordings are now freely accessible via the event webpage, allowing anyone who could not attend in person to benefit from the insights shared.

The official exhibition prepared by the National Library of Israel, created especially for the EDJC 2025 theme, will be available from mid-June. This traveling exhibition is expected to become a central element in many local events, offering a visually rich and intellectually engaging experience for the general public. Organizers will be notified via our channels once the exhibition is ready for download and distribution.
Moreover, we are excited to announce the upcoming Inspiring People of the Book session, the first in a series of online encounters that will delve into the artistic, political, and symbolic dimensions of the Jewish textual tradition. Led by Luca Baraldi, this inaugural session titled The Unread Script: The Aesthetic, Political, and Spiritual Life of Jewish Books in the History of Art, will take place on Wednesday, June 18th at 16:00h CET (4PM) and is open to all festival coordinators and cultural professionals.
