Jewish Community Welfare and Cultural Center “Hesed” is located in the very center of the city. A synagogue was located at this place, which was closed and transformed to a residential building. In 1995, the building was transferred to the Jewish community. With the support of the Joint, the building was restored. With the support of the Posner Foundation (USA), a two-story building was built. In 2001, the Hesed Chana Jewish Community Center was officially registered. Currently, it provides welfare assistance to Jews throughout the PMR.
