Educational Workshops for Children – European Days of Jewish Culture in Płońsk

As part of this year’s European Days of Jewish Culture (EDJC), held under the inspiring theme “People of the Book”, the Płońsk Memorial House will host a series of creative and educational workshops for children aged 6–10 from local kindergartens and schools.

At the Memorial House – a museum dedicated to the history of the town’s Jewish community, a total of 8 workshop meetings will be held in September. Through engaging activities, storytelling, and art, children will discover the richness of Jewish culture and heritage connected to their town.

The workshops include:

“In the Synagogue of Płońsk”
Children will step into the world of the former Płońsk synagogue, learning about its history, the Torah, the Aron Ha-Kodesh, the Bimah, and the role of a rabbi. As part of the workshop, each participant will decorate a canvas bag with the Hebrew letter Aleph.
Approximately 120 children with guardians will take part in 4 workshop meetings.

Art Inspired by Józef Budko
Art workshops inspired by the work of Józef Budko, a Jewish painter and graphic artist from Płońsk, who, among other things, was the author of a series of graphics for the Passover Haggadah. During the workshops, participants will learn about Józef Budko, familiarize themselves with examples of his works, and make artworks inspired by his work.
Approximately 120 children with their guardians will take part in 4 workshop meetings.

These workshops aim to inspire curiosity, creativity, and respect for Jewish heritage while connecting the youngest generations with the history of their city.

The exact timing of the workshops will be arranged in coordination with the children’s group guardians.
