DEADLINE: Sunday 14th of July
In an exciting new initiative under the NOA Project (Networks Overcoming Antisemitism), community leaders are being called upon to contribute their invaluable insights to draft the NOA Guidelines on Fostering Jewish Life. These guidelines aim to provide municipalities, national public authorities, and civil society with practical tools and strategies to create vibrant and inclusive environments for Jewish communities across Europe.
The NOA Guidelines on Fostering Jewish Life are a comprehensive set of recommendations and best practices designed to support and enrich Jewish communities. Covering various aspects of Jewish life—including cultural celebrations, education, community activities, and heritage promotion—the guidelines are poised to make a significant impact.
The importance of these guidelines cannot be overstated. Community feedback will directly influence their development, ensuring they are both relevant and impactful. By reflecting the diverse experiences and needs of Jewish communities, the guidelines will promote inclusivity and foster a sense of belonging. Additionally, they will offer practical advice on supporting Jewish cultural, educational, and community activities, helping to build stronger, more resilient communities. They will also provide strategies for preserving and promoting Jewish culture, ensuring that this rich heritage is celebrated and remembered.
Participation in the survey is crucial. It will help the NOA Project understand how municipalities, public authorities, and civil society can contribute to fostering Jewish life. Importantly, this survey is not an evaluation of the work done by Jewish communities but a means to gather perspectives on the support and resources needed from external stakeholders.
The potential impact of these guidelines is significant. They will enable municipalities and relevant stakeholders to implement effective strategies, thanks to the collective efforts and measurable achievements of NOA’s partners and associated partners.
This critical task of research, analysis, and drafting of the guidelines is led by the AEPJ, the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage. Community leaders are encouraged to fill out the survey, which takes no more than 15 minutes to complete. The deadline for submission is Sunday, July 14. This is a prime opportunity for leaders to voice their thoughts, ideas, and concerns, directly shaping the future of Jewish life across Europe.
