The Taybelekh Band from the United Kingdom brings an unforgettable celebration of Yiddish and Ladino music to Porto, blending soulful melodies with vibrant klezmer dances. Hosted at Clube Fenianos Portuenses and the Holocaust Museum of Porto, the event combines live performances with The Righteous exhibition — a tribute to Christians and Muslims who courageously saved lives during the Holocaust. For the fifth time, the International Jewish Culture Festival “Shalom Everywhere” warmly welcomes you to Klaipėda!
Dear friends, as we invite you to the festival events, our humble organizing team reflects: five years—does it feel long or short? What began as a timid idea has, over five years, grown into a highly professional festival, the only one of its kind in Lithuania. Every year, participants come from across Europe—musicians, lecturers, writers, scholars, and filmmakers—to share their talents and insights. Our audience spans generations and interests, from Klaipėda residents to visitors from across the regions. The festival has already built a loyal circle of friends, partners, and supporters. The main sponsor of the International Jewish Culture Festival “Shalom Everywhere” is the Klaipėda City Municipality.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Littman Library of Jewish Civilization – and in keeping with this year’s EDJC theme, ‘People of the Book’ – we are pleased to share a specially curated reading list highlighting just a selection of the many titles Littman offers on Jewish culture. Covering history, literature, art, scholarship, and community life, these works capture the richness of Jewish creativity, identity, and heritage as expressed through the written word.
To mark the occasion, enjoy 30% off all Littman titles from 8 September to 31 October. Simply enter code 27EDJC at checkout on the Liverpool University Press website: https://bit.ly/littman-library

The Estonian Jewish Museum is organizing a literary conference titled “The Book – A Bridge Between the Jewish and Estonian Worlds” as part of the Estonian Book Year. The conference has been included in the calendar of events for European Jewish Culture Days, which in 2025 is themed “People of the Book.”
The idea for the conference came from events that took place in Estonia 90 years ago. In 1935, Estonia also celebrated its Book Year, and the Jewish community participated in the events. Activities were held in Tallinn and Pärnu. The 2025 conference will therefore re-establish a connection to past events.
The conference program features presentations that cover a wide range of interactions between Jewish and Estonian cultures. Among the speakers are scholars and researchers of Jewish studies from Tartu and Tallinn universities, representatives of the Estonian Jewish community, translators, and writers.
