Židovska ulica with its associated square marks a culturally and historically important part of Maribor, which in today's urban design at the same time reveals itself as an extremely attractive, urbanistically completed corner of the city. Galleries and other cultural institutions operating on this street wanted to, on the one hand, promote the recognition of their cultural and artistic production, and on the other, the recognition of Židovska ulica or Židovski trg as "the most beautiful balcony in the city" and at the same time one of the most important historical spaces Jewish heritage in Slovenia, connected to the Židovska Cultural Quarter. Five partner organizations – Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Maribor Synagogue, Youth Cultural Center Maribor with the Media Nox Gallery, Fotoklub Maribor with the Stolp Photo Gallery, the Association of Fine Artists Maribor with the DLUM Gallery and GT22 & the Sonda Foundation – strive to revive the pulse of the former Jewish quarter and thus directly or indirectly rekindle the memory of its former inhabitants, and at the same time, with a variety of non-Jewish contents, to encourage awareness among its visitors that just about every visitor to the Židovska Cultural Quarter – regardless of age, expectations and taste – can find a program here , which will attract him and provide him with a quality cultural and artistic experience.

Židovska ulica s pripadajočim trgom zaznamuje kulturnozgodovinsko pomemben del Maribora, ki se v današnji mestni zasnovi hkrati razkriva kot izjemno atraktiven urbanistično zaključen kotiček mesta. Galerijske in druge kulturne ustanove, delujoče na tej ulici, so se v želji, da bi na eni strani spodbudile prepoznavnost svoje kulturno-umetniške produkcije, na drugi pa prepoznavnost Židovske ulice oziroma Židovskega trga kot »najlepšega balkona mesta« in obenem enega najpomembnejših historičnih prostorov judovske dediščine v Sloveniji, povezale v Kulturno četrt Židovska. Pet partnerskih organizacij – Center judovske kulturne dediščine Sinagoga Maribor, Mladinski kulturni center Maribor z Galerijo Media Nox, Fotoklub Maribor s Fotogalerijo Stolp, Društvo likovnih umetnikov Maribor z Galerijo DLUM in GT22 & Ustanova Fundacija Sonda – si v okviru omenjene iniciative prizadeva obuditi utrip nekdanje judovske četrti ter tako neposredno ali posredno obujati spomin na njene nekdanje prebivalce, hkrati pa z raznovrstnostjo, tudi nejudovskih vsebin, med svojimi obiskovalci spodbuditi zavedanje, da lahko prav vsak obiskovalec Kulturne četrti Židovska – ne glede na starost ter svoja pričakovanja in okus – tod najde program, ki ga bo pritegnil in mu omogočil kakovostno kulturno-umetniško izkušnjo.

Les femmes sont à l’honneur au mahJ à l’occasion des Journées européennes de la culture juive. En écho à l’accrochage « Nouvelles venues » qui permet de découvrir trois femmes artistes du XXe siècle, Charlotte Henschel, Georgette Meyer et Sonia Steinsapir, le musée invite à une célébration des femmes, des personnalités juives engagées, des femmes qui comptent dans le domaine des arts, de la littérature, de la pensée et de l’histoire.
Un programme riche en surprises pour toute la famille : le salon du livre avec une trentaine d’auteurs en dédicace, des rencontres dans les salles autour de la place des femmes dans le judaïsme, des ateliers en famille inspirés par l’œuvre brodée de Georgette Meyer, une projection et un grand entretien avec Yaël Abecassis à l’auditorium, des rencontres généalogiques et la traditionnelle braderie de livres.
Mit dem Überfall der Hamas auf Israel am 7.Oktober 2023 veränderte sich das Leben nicht nur in Israel, sondern für Juden weltweit. In Deutschland sind seitdem Jüdinnen und Juden von Antisemitismus bedroht wie noch nie seit 1945.
Das Zweite Vatikanische Konzil hat für die Katholische Kirche vor 50 Jahren einen Paradigmenwechsel im Verhältnis zum Judentum eingeleitet. Die Konzilserklärung Nostra Aetate von 1965 hielt in Artikel 4 fest: Im Bewusstsein des gemeinsamen Erbes beklage die Katholische Kirche „alle Haßausbrüche, Verfolgungen und Manifestationen des Antisemitismus, die sich zu irgendeiner Zeit und von irgend jemandem gegen die Juden gerichtet haben“. Welche Auswirkungen hat dieses Bekenntnis heute in der Praxis? Was bedeutet das für das hiesige Verhältnis von Juden und Christen? Wie kann gemeinsam dem wiedererstarkten Antisemitismus begegnet werden?
In diesem Jahr findet die Jahreskonferenz der AG Jüdische Sammlungen vom 10.-13. September 2024 in Halberstadt statt. Die Kolleginnen und Kollegen freuen sich, Sie zahlreich im Berend Lehmann Museum für jüdische Geschichte und Kultur begrüßen zu dürfen.
Austragungsort der Konferenz wird der Festsaal der Hochschule Harz am Domplatz in Halberstadt sein. Für den 11. September ist außerdem ein festlicher Abend im Ratssaal von Halberstadt geplant.
Bitte machen Sie sich Gedanken, ob Sie in diesem Jahr einen Vortrag über Ihre Arbeit, Ihre Institution oder ein Projekt halten möchten. Für die Vorträge sind bis zu 15 Minuten eingeplant, zuzüglich 10-15 Minuten für Rückfragen und Austausch. Es wäre hilfreich, wenn Sie Ihre Präsentationen bereits im Vorfeld zusenden könnten.
