The Jewish Cultural Center Ljubljana has been organizing programs and events for more than a decade in the spirit of the European Days of Jewish Culture (EDJC), shedding light on Slovenia’s rich yet often overlooked Jewish heritage. In 2025, these long-standing efforts will culminate in the first official edition of the Jewish Culture Festival in Ljubljana—a three-day celebration that will also mark the 700th anniversary of Jewish presence in the city.
The Festival will present a multidisciplinary program highlighting culture, art, music, culinary heritage, tradition, and community engagement. Developed in cooperation with the City of Ljubljana, this new initiative seeks to establish a long-term cultural tradition while enriching the city’s diverse festival landscape with a unique, inclusive, and educational platform.
Objectives:
To present Jewish cultural heritage as an integral and enriching part of shared Slovenian and European history.
To foster intercultural dialogue and promote tolerance through public cultural and educational activities.
To raise awareness of the past and present of the Jewish community with engaging content for a wide audience.
To connect international and local artists, intellectuals, and institutions in a celebration of Jewish culture.
To increase the visibility of the Jewish Cultural Center Ljubljana as the only Jewish cultural institution and synagogue in Slovenia.

Patrimonio, historia y gastronomía se darán cita en la Ciudad del Sol, un año más, con la celebración de las Jornadas Europeas de la Cultura Judía con el objetivo de poner en valor la diversidad, riqueza e importancia histórica del judaísmo. Tendrán lugar del 1 al 30 de septiembre, y estarán dedicadas a la familia.

À travers les siècles, le livre a été le vecteur d’une mémoire vivante, un pont entre les générations, un rempart contre l’oubli. Comme un livre qui s’ouvre, la riche programmation des JECJ 2025, commence par l’exposition d’un artiste, Abram Krol, dont l’art creuse les œuvres pour les exhausser.
Graveur du silence et poète de la matière, Abram Krol transforme le cuivre en page et le burin en écriture. Ses livres sont des mondes habités, où la parole devient trace et l’image, méditation.
Un art rare, à lire avec les yeux — et parfois, avec les doigts. L’exposition invite à entrer dans les marges incandescentes d’un dialogue infini entre livres et vie.

En las Altas Fiestas es tradición visitar los cementerios y, desde hace unos años, también visitamos el antiguo cementerio de Montjuïc, declarado Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional en 2009.
A primera vista, no hay rastros visibles, y nos encontramos para renovar nuestro compromiso con el principio de Kavod HaMet: “ofrecer al difunto el respeto y el honor adecuados”, una tradición milenaria que se había interrumpido después de 1391, cuando los ataques anti judíos resultaron en la desaparición de la comunidad.
Bajo nuestros pies, bajo arbustos y raíces, yacen miembros de nuestra extensa familia judía. Y con nuestra acción volvemos a tejer el alma del lugar con el paisaje que naturalmente se ha generado.
Toda historia o experiencia de vida es un libro en potencia, en que las palabras mantienen viva una memoria.
