Erleben Sie bekannte Melodien von George Gershwin, Dave Brubeck, Duke Ellington, jüdische Musik in neuen Arrangements sowie eigene Kompositionen mit begnadeten Musikern. Ein toller Abend mit viel Leidenschaft! Herren werden gebeten, eine Kopfbedeckung zu tragen. Eintritt frei – Spenden erbeten. Das Konzert findet im Rahmen der Jüdischen Kulturtage zwischen Harz und Heide statt, die 2024 zum fünften Mal stattfinden. In Castelló d’Empúries, an important collection of Hebrew lapidary artifacts from the old Jewish cemetery or medieval burial ground is preserved in one of the rooms of the Museum of Medieval History of the Cúria-Presó. These pieces, along with the rest of the museum's collection, can be visited at a discount if you come accompanied. A great opportunity to visit the museum and its surroundings.
A Castelló d’Empúries es conserva una important col·lecció lapidària hebrea procedent de l’antic fossar o cementiri hebreu medieval que avui es conserva en una de les sales del Museu d’Història Medieval de la Cúria-Presó. Aquestes peces, juntament amb la resta de la col·lecció del museu es podrà visitar amb descompte si veniu acompanyats. Una magnífica oportunitat per visitar el museu i els seus entorn.
"Cants d’Edom" is a recital of songs from the Catalan Jews performed by Pili Cugat and Carlos Lupprian. The concert will take place on Saturday, August 31 at 7:30 PM, in the cloister of the Convent of Santa Clara in Castelló d’Empúries.

Did you know that during the Middle Ages, Castelló d’Empúries hosted a significant Jewish community? EmpordàBrava invites you on a guided tour through time to discover the legacy of the Jews in the capital of the County of Empúries, throughout centuries of coexistence until their expulsion in 1492.
Free guided tour in Catalan, with prior registration required. The starting point will be the municipal tourist office of Castelló d’Empúries, located in the Llotja building at Plaça dels Homes.

Hebrew is a Semitic language that around 200 AD ceased to be used regularly and became the language of Jewish liturgy among rabbis. At the end of the 19th century, it was revived and is currently spoken by more than five million people. It has its own alphabet and script, which you can discover in this introductory workshop taught by historian Ariadna Comas, head of the Synagogue of Puig Mercadal. The workshop costs €5.00 per person and includes materials.

The Synagogue of Puig Mercadal was a center of worship and meeting for the Jewish community of Castelló d’Empúries. Located in the old Jewish Quarter of the town, it allows us today to understand how Catalan Jews lived in the Middle Ages. The visit, led by its organizers, will help us learn about the history of the building, the daily life of the aljama, and the most significant aspects of Judaism. All accompanied by a tasting of wine and other kosher products.
